Architectural Signage Puzzle

CEE 1971

Perhaps someone out there can help me with this. I've seen signage like this since I arrived and have never been able to work out what it means or meant. Any ideas?

These logos are found on electrical substations in the inner districts of Saigon. I am guessing that EE stands for "electrical equipment".

Mystery solved! I was never sure what the little buildings they were attached to were. I've noticed that most of them have been repainted recently which is clearly why they've become more visible to me again. Thanks for taking the time to let me know.

I wondered about this a few years back and was told to ask a French friend. Sure enough, CEE stands for Compagnie des Eaux et Electricité - the Water and Electricity Company. There are a few other French acronyms and labels around town but I cannot remember them off-hand

Great information, thanks. There's one that starts with a G too but like you I can't remember what it is right now, I shall try to hunt them down. These little bits of history are interesting.
